Blue Heron's Tim Smith led a number of successful employee engagement and communications projects for Croydon Council as an interim manager and consultant. He was recognised by the HR Director as bringing significant added value to the interim role and being an integral member of the HR senior management team.
Tim led an evaluation of the effective of employee communications across the council and implemented the council's new internal communications strategy. including channel development and management
He developed the council's first ever employer branding to help engage employees with the council's new approach to people management - a highly visual method of branding all 'people activities' is now fully embedded across the council.
He also supported the council on a number of high-profile human resources and organisational development projects including launching new corporate values, recruitment and retention, single status, a new employer self-service system, staff awards and a staff conference.
Recently we've helped Croydon get a higher profile and national recognition for some of their innovative HR work. We researched and written successful award entries for a number of industry awards - most recently Croydon's entries for the Public Sector People Managers (PPMA) awards, where the council was shortlisted for all four awards it entered and was the only double winner.
We have also helped Croydon's HR team raise their profile, through targeted features and articles in the HR press, including Human Resources, People Management, Personnel Today and HRDirector magazines
