Working for one of the leading public sector communications consultancies, Blue Heron provided internal communications management and support for the new Care Quality Commission during its very period of transition from three existing commissions.
A crucial element of this role was to work with the internal communications teams in the three partner commissions. It was essential to maintain positive and constructive relationships with them and ensure that communications to staff in the three inspectorates were consistent and appropriate to their culture.
We wrote the transition internal communications strategy and advised senior management on communicating a number of key HR issues during the merger. We also managed the development of a number of key communications channels, including a weekly bulletin for staff in the three partner commissions, a new intranet site and a series of nationwide conferences to increase employee engagement by staff with their new employer.
We also worked with a leading branding agency on the initial stages of development of the new CQC brand.
